And He said to them, You shall drink indeed of My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on My right hand, and on My left, is not My to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of My Father.” From this passage of Scripture, we can see that Salome (the wife of Zebedee and the mother of the disciples John and James) made a request of the Lord Jesus, hoping that her two sons would be able to sit on either side of the Lord in heaven, but the Lord did not grant her request.
