Concerning the Practice of Prayer

bible study | Concerning the Practice of Prayer

You place no importance on prayer in your daily lives. Man neglects the matter of prayer. Prayers used to be perfunctory, with man simply going through the motions before God. No man ever offered his heart fully before God and engaged in true prayer with God. Man prayed to God only when trouble arose. In all this time, have you ever truly prayed to God? Why Haven’t We Welcomed the Second Coming of Jesus?

By Xiaowei, the United States

Recently, I saw some believer asked in a post on Facebook, “Now is already the last days and the prophecies of the Lord’s return have basically all been fulfilled, but why haven’t we met the Lord yet? Is it that there is something wrong with our way of waiting?” Actually, most brothers and sisters are also confused about this. Regarding this question, I have some simple understanding and would like to share it with you now.

The Lord Jesus has ever told us, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself … ” (John 14:3). “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:30). bible study | When the Son of Man Comes, How Can We Recognize Him?When the night fell, Jiamin stood before the window, watching the quiet sky with a bright moon. She thought of several verses she had looked up when reading the Bible a few days ago: “For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:27), “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:37), and “For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation” (Luke 17:24-25). Continue reading “When the Son of Man Comes, How Can We Recognize Him?”

The Desolation of Churches -1

The last few years we’ve felt a growing desolation in our church. We’ve lost the faith and love we had at the start, and become weaker and more negative. Even we preachers sometimes feel darkened, and don’t know what to talk about. We feel like we’ve lost the work of the Holy Spirit. We’ve also looked everywhere for a church with the Holy Spirit’s work, but every church we see is as desolate as our own. Why are all denominations suffering famine?

bible study | Desolation of Churches

Answer: The question you’ve asked is an important one. We all know that we live in the late period of the last days. The Lord Jesus once prophesied: “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Mat 24:12). Lawlessness in the world of religion is growing. Religious leaders don’t abide by the Lord’s commandments, they only abide by men’s traditions. They only preach biblical knowledge to show off and testify to themselves. They don’t testify to God or exalt God at all, and they’ve completely departed from the Lord’s way, which is why God rejects and eliminates them. This is mainly why the religious world has lost the work of the Holy Spirit. But also, it’s because the Lord Jesus has returned to flesh, and begun the work of judgment beginning with the house of God in the last days. Continue reading “The Desolation of Churches -1”

Bible Verses for Reference:

“And he said, I beseech You, show me Your glory. And He said, … You can not see My face: for there shall no man see Me, and live” (Exodus 33:18–20).

“And Jehovah came down on mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and Jehovah called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up. And Jehovah said to Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through to Jehovah to gaze, and many of them perish. And let the priests also, which come near to Jehovah, sanctify themselves, lest Jehovah break forth on them” (Exodus 19:20–22).

“And all the people saw the thunder, and the lightning, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. And they said to Moses, Speak you with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die” (Exodus 20:18–19).

“Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spoke to Him” (John 12:28–29). One day after breakfast, he was sitting at his desk. It was sunny outside, and the bright sunshine was shining down on him through the window—he was in a great mood. He once again opened up the book of hymns and began to passionately sing along with the familiar melody: “The good man is knocking at the door, His hair wet with dew; let us quickly rise and open the door, and not let the good man turn around and leave …” (“Canaan Hymns”). Cho Yeonghan is a pastor of a church in South Korea. He served the Lord enthusiastically for decades and earned the deep respect of his fellow believers. Christian Question and Answer: Why Did God Incarnate to Work in the Age of Grace?

By Xiang Wang

Many brothers and sisters in the Lord all feel confused: In the Age of Law, Jehovah God did His work and led the Israelites in Spirit, so why must God become flesh to work and save man in the Age of Grace? Couldn’t He do that work in a spiritual body?

bible study | God's Incarnation

On this question, I’ll share a bit of my understanding. As a matter of fact, every stage of God’s work is done based on the needs of corrupt mankind and also according to the steps of God’s plan of managing mankind. In the Age of Law, because mankind was minimally corrupted, what they needed was not God’s work of redemption. They only needed God to promulgate laws and commandments so that they could be aware of their sins and know how to worship God and how to live on earth. Will the Lord Jesus Come as a Thief or Come Upon a Cloud?

By Bai Xue

Jin Hua picked up Sister Zheng and Sister Yang (back from another province) from the railway station. After they three had lunch, Sister Zheng and Sister Yang went to have some rest. Jin Hua was also about to lie down and take a nap when Sister Wang of her church came to tell her that ten more brothers and sisters had been arrested by the CCP police the day before, so she didn’t want to attend meetings anymore and planned to go to another place to work. Hearing that, Jin Hua’s heart sank with the realization that the extent of the CCP’s persecution was becoming more and more grievous. But at that moment, she was too busy comforting Sister Wang to think more, “God uses this to test our faith in Him, and it also fulfills the prophecies of the Lord’s return.
